Happy New Year - Jan "To Do" List

Here we are, 1 week into the New Year! A lot of people start off the New Year basically chanting the slogan “New Year…New Me” however, that’s never really been my thing (although I’m sure I’ve said it in the past.) With the start of anything new, I usually gain a level of energy that I try and put towards my efforts in anything I am involved in.

I’ve certainly set my sights on accomplishing a few goals that I have already been working towards. And I truly hope to make some big leaps in progress in the year 2020! I took the time to reflect on the past year, well hell the past decade, and I’ve grown so much. My goals reflect that growth and I plan to continue to make strides in the right direction.

In order to keep myself on track with the goals I’ve set, I have my daily, weekly, and monthly goals that I make sure to look at and revise when necessary. I’ll be sure to add my January “To Do” List at the bottom of this post, feel free to keep me accountable. Some people ask me how do I do it, keep track of things, or even make my daily “to do” lists. But honestly, it’s fun for me. Almost like a game. I’m competing with myself to see how much I can accomplish throughout the day, week, month, and year that will ultimately help make a better future for me in the end. These goals range from financial, mental, physical, spiritual, business, wealth, and health!

Have you set your goals for the year? How about the month? Do you have an accountability circle? Lately I have been trying to be more open and vulnerable to others. A part of that strategy has lead me to begin writing my blogs again. There are times where I sit back and think about, who all can I tell my hopes and dreams to. People that I know won’t shut anything down or speak negatively, but instead will encourage me and hold me accountable. Those people are part of my “accountability circle.” Some of them know they are in that circle, and some don’t but either way I get the results I need when I ask specific questions or share thoughts on my goals.

I use to be someone who kept every goal to myself, in fear of either someone taking my idea or maybe discouraging me from going after it. I’m sure you know the feeling. But as I have grown and been more focused on myself rather than what others think, I truly believe what’s for me will always be for me. I have found myself sharing any insight I can when it comes to the things I am knowledgeable about, and also reaching out more and more to those that I know might hold an answer I don’t have. I think it takes some courage to do both sometimes.

Are you someone that lives by the slogan, “Move In Silence?” When I thought that way, it was more because I was afraid to put certain things out there just in case I failed. But when I got away from that type of thinking, I actually began flourishing. I met more and more people who were moving in some of the same lanes that I was, and that allowed me to find people that could help me be better in areas I was lacking. Also, it makes me be held accountable at a higher level.

Let 2020 be a great start to things you already have in motion! Set that passion on fire and do things this year that will catapult you into a much better future.
